A Handful of Soil

Funeral, Oak Hill Memorial Park, August 17, 2007.

Of all the parts of the funeral, the one thing I didn't want to do was put a handful of dirt into the grave.
I just didn't want to.

My mom did, and I was glad she did. I was glad to have her at the funeral, and glad she got to pay her respects.
