The Lady - Bliss Dance
Assembling "Bliss Dance" from the Burning Man Blog
I think it's safe to say that almost anyone who was at Burning Man 2010 would know exactly which piece of art was being mentioned just from the phrase "the lady statue." She was definitely one of the most popular works on the playa this year, and deservedly so.
I took a LOT of photos of this statue, and for reasons of events being held around her, and camera batteries running out, still didn't get to shoot her from every angle I would have liked to. But I still have quite a few images of this sculpture, in both day and night lighting.
Because she became such an icon of this year's Burning Man, and because she looks beautiful in so many of her different colors, instead of just selecting a couple of shots to represent her, I'm giving her her own album.
Some of the night images are in better focus than others in terms of individual showcase images, but all together, these show a good range of the Lady's dazzling color and lighting effects.
The night images are all tripod-based long exposures - hence the occasional camera jiggles that caused imperfect focus on some frames. Exposure times varied depending upon the brightness of the various colors, but ranged between 1 and 4 seconds for most of the shots.
