Bodypaint shoot with Lisa Berczel (Battledress Paint-n-Body) and Michael Foster
October 10, 2008
Much thanks to Nicolas Evariste for the use of "Zebra III" as a reference image for this bodypaint and shoot concept.
This shoot started out in our minds as a relatively simple bodypaint, with the head and neck of the zebra mapping neatly to the thigh and calf of the leg. However a series of "wouldn't it be cool if's" took us into the realm of prosthetic-building, fx, and body molding, along with the beautifully detailed airbrush paint work.
During the hours of creating the body art, we came up with a rather long list of shots we hoped to shoot around the piece. Images from several of those ideas are represented in this album. There are also two other sets, incorporating additional makeup and prosthetics, that we hope to shoot in a future session.
Finally, the figure studies in this group came about rather spontaneously: the lighting set up for the "leg" poses was also sweeping across Michael's back beautifully. I couldn't resist a quick change of gears to grab a couple of figure shots, and I am looking forward to doing more pure figure work with Michael in the near future.
